Close to Gettin' Done

I have the writing section (with some new stuff), art section, and webmistress section..I added a gallery and I'll soon make the "larger view" links work at H20..I have to fix the link pages and set up some java script and it should be ready to go..I don't really like the layout I made..it's not really the style I'm used to doing and the idea I sketched out didn't work, so I had to do something different..it has contridicting meanings..so I hope that would at least be interesting and symbolize a part of me cuz I often believe in contridictory beliefs..often at the same time..

New Class

Woot! My class this quarter is Intro to Audio/Video Production! And I go there and guess what!! We get to make movies! Yeah, for the first class it's only like 5 min. I think, and then we work on a movie as a class for Winter and Spring quarters..I guess for Intermediate Audio (Winter) the sound is stripped from the movie we made in the class before and we have to redo all the dialog and sound effects..I think he said they're gonna build a sound-proof recording studio for us..right now we are in what I call The Room of DOOM or really, THE ROOM OF DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM..I CAN'T STAND THAT ROOM!!! It's evil, I tell you! I get in there and I automatically wanna leave and do something creative..my mind automatically wanders in that room..hopefully when we get the computers in there, I can keep my mind busy..

Oh, and it's funny..for 3-5 years I've for some reason have been obsessed with watching shows about movies are made, directors' commentaries, comparing the storyboard with the scenes from the movie, and reading scripts for fun..apparenty I'm one of the few people in the class that likes this stuff..I'm weird..I don't ever buy or rent a movie thinking it's 2 hours long..NO!! It's more like 6-10 hours long..cuz I'll watch the movie, the commentary, the director's cut or deleted scenes, how it's made, look at the storyboards and read the original script and compare them to the theatrical cut..it drives my parents crazy! But I'm really interested in not only HOW it's made, but the decisions and the psychology behind it..

so yeah, I'm weird..maybe it's because I daydream too much and deperately wanting to find a way to get the daydreams out of my head..I can't write in story form, but I might be able to write it in screenplay form..the format is simpler and doesn't have to be as fluffy or grammatically correct as story writing..new daydreams are popping up, too..it's weird..they just build up..one thing leads to another and sometimes I think it goes in the wrong direction, but it's weird when I try to change it..so the story writes itself in my head..yeah, it's weird, but I hope to put the stories in my head to some kinda positive use..

In class, we'll have to get into groups and I already know I don't want John Valera in my group..he's too good and I want him as competition! I need competition or I'm not gonna work as hard..I don't want another student-who-shall-not-be-named that is more of a late person than I..the teacher said not to miss classes and not get there late cuz on some days he will lock the door at 1 p.m...well, she missed 1-2 days so far and came in 15-45 min. late on the days she did show up..one of the students (probably more in reality) didn't come there to learn all this theory stuff (the teacher said that you have to pass the midterm about theory, concept, and format to even get to touch a video camera because he feels you shouldn't touch thousand-dollar equipment if you don't know about the film making part of it) he came to just use the camera..I wouldn't mind people like that in my group cuz I can find or suggest something for them to do and enjoy and will probably be great group members and work hard on their part(s)..

Today, we watched the director's commentary of "The Punisher" and we were booted out of the room by my old Java Script teacher because our class went over 5-10 min. and we didn't finish the movie..now I have to write a two page essay about what I learned and how I can use it when making a video..I wrote at the top of my page of notes (OMG! I took notes!!): Turn the bull crap meter to high and break the dial labeled "writing skills"..

Content isn't the problem..I'll probably have to cut down a lot..my problem is that I can't write..I REALLY can't write essays..so I'll probably get a C..

I watched the debate and I heard "Bush came through on top!" in my conservative town and "John Kerry pulled out on top!" online and from some many of my liberal friends..all through the darn thing I had THIS in my head and started to hum it, too!

I don't like either candidate..Saturday Night Live did an awesome job making fun of both sides well! Go SNL!!

I was talking to Kitty about it and she said, "Vote for me." and I said, "That would be great! I'll vote for M-E." she was like, "No, me." So I'm voting for her for president and so is her mom..Austin might..I'm gonna make a mock page asking all the undecided voters to vote her for president..I wanna see ifwe can't get her name in the newspaper..So everyone write in "Valerie Waksmunski"..
