Today went pretty well..

Yesterday, my teacher had the "flu" and went home early..I guess Chris dropped the class..

I put "flu" in quotes because having someone drop the class when only 4 people are in the class is a huge blow and he might have just been stressed out..

Shooting at Bridgeview this morning was cancelled (as far as I know, since my cell phone sucks when I call from home and I could barely hear Jim) so I took John's shift since no one else had by that time..

We got our jackets, today! They rock, they're just way big lol..I fit great in a size smaller..so did Jessie and Mary..even a small was too big for Jennifer..

Barbara and Chris came in and showed us CougarWeb 101..gawd, that was boring (not Barbara and Chris, but the video!)..

It's a 12 min. video about CougarWeb..I (and others like Jessie and Jason) suggested having chapters (like in a DVD)..I thought maybe a contents page with links to the segments (making download times faster and you can select what you see)..and also have static pages with text for each because deaf people would be lost on a speaking only video..

The audio sucked..it sounded like it was recorded with a small computer mic and you can hear breath, wind, etc. and the voice was distorted..

David, Jessie, et al. and I suggested different students doing the narration..I think it would be cool if it was done old-school WOSU style with wide angle cameras mounted beside/behind the student narrator so to explain things, the computer looks behind him at the camera (as if he were showing you in person) and then it flashes back to the screen shots)..and adding life style shots or something to break up the monotony..

Sam's idea was neat..she suggested having a video rollover that pops up when you roll over the link with a student saying what the link does..

Other issues where not knowing where it was and you wouldn't catch it if you did see the page..

I guess Matt and I will help them make it better..

We signed up for upcoming volunteer opportunities..I almost didn't say I'd do the Stroll for the Epilepsy Foundation..then it dawned on me I already said I would months ago! Luckily the meetings are on Wednesdays and the Stroll is on a weekend..

Ed wanted me to do the tour with him on Friday but I was like, "Dude, my mom needs to get her teeth back." ..I'm taking her to the dentist on Friday..then "Through a Rear View Mirror" is that night..

we did this personality / multiple intelligences thingy that Jessie gave us..I love these things!

But is it that weird I got 10s in 3 categories? The only reason I'm good at both math/science/logic crap and the art/music/etc. crap is because my personality was different when I was in high school and some of those traits stayed with me and now I'm into different things..

I got 10s in Interpersonal, Visual/Spatial, and Musical categories..musical one was DUH 'cuz of choir and band..Visual/Spacial - DUH - I'm a designer and I previsualize..and Interpersonal - DUH - Student Ambassador, previous girl scout, always part of a "Team" such as choir, band, drama, etc...I crave being around people, now..

One thing I learned from being a student ambassador:

I don't wanna be staring at a computer or at a desk for 8-10 hours a day..

I need to be around and talk to people..I need to find ways to help..I need to be challenged both physically and mentally..and I need to travel (even if it's around town)..

That's why photojournalism is so appealing to me..

A guy (I'm so bad with names!) that was working in the SA office this morning said I might think about looking into some kinda educational thing/degree where I'd work for or head a department in a school or college to help improve college/school life for students..

That would be fun..but I can't even remember what it was called..

As for Halloween costumes..I thought maybe "Superego and Id" where I'd go with one side of me as an angel and the otherside as a devil..

But then Barbara said I should go as "Bird Flu" so I will!

I'm gonna go with a robe and a bird head with a funny hat and fake sneeze a lot..it's supposed to be reminesent (sp?) of the doctors at the time of the Black Death..
