How My Teacher Saved Me From the Elevator

LOL Just kidding! I was joking today about how because my teacher had the class and taught us voice excercises, that made me try the exercises before my tour..which made me 3-5 minutes late, which made 2 other people come along, and because I don't take the elevator with more than 2 people (we had 4), I didn't get stuck in the Nestor Hall elevator (someone else got stuck)..

If he didn't have that class, I would have only had two people and gone on the elevator at the exact time it got stuck!

Oh, wait, I also have to thank U.S. Bank and the guy in the Student Assistance Center (both for helping me get my loan to take the class) LOL..


Ashville :o(

Yes, that's a sad emoticon... :o( My dad said there was a car wash that I could drive through in town, behind the library..

So I go at 6:30 pm, when it's dark, and go to the back of the library..I find I have to drive through a ghetto part of Ashville, near an old factory to get there and then, I find only a self-serve car wash!

I decided not to get out of my car (kinda creepy out there)..so I ended up having to drive down a grassy alley to get back to Long St...

*Sigh* I don't know why, but I hate it..I prefer dark paved alleys to ghetto grassy lined by a fence alley for some reason..

I also like it when I KNOW I can go only a short distance (within 5-20 min.) to reach everything, instead of driving behind buildings or miles and miles down a dark, hilly, country road to some place that gave wrong directions..

Oh, well..


Presentations

At our last Student Ambassador meeting, I was bored to death (I mean, it WAS following a fun, interactive, funny class)..then the speaker (from Toastmasters) got my attention when he called up Jason..then 5-10 minutes after Jason was done, I got bored again..he even repeated part of the presentation..

So, I don't know, I just feel INTERACTIVENESS is very important in a presentation..I think it's because people go into it with a gazillion things on their mind and to hear the same voice over and over, doesn't draw the attention of their minds like all the other worries or thoughts running through their heads..

Calling up Jason, a form of interaction with the audience, makes the audiences minds focus on the event that's happening in front of them..I think it's a survival thing.......like, your mind goes, "Oh shit, what if i'm called up next?" and so you feel you NEED to pay attention..

THAT's why I usually ask questions from the audience..and even when there are boring parts like the whole "Parts of a typical meeting" slide, I'd say, have people from the audience come up and wear sandwich boards or something weird with each person representing a part, that they have to read about what they are or something..

Also, it was presentations like that guy's is why I HATE POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS!!!! They are so BLAH and I hate reading..and I hate being read from a slide to me and most presentations are so *Yawn* boring..

When I have to give my workshop, "Seeing the Adventure in Your Life" (which sucks that Bola is down in Georgia now because I think she'd have fun with it), Most of the workshop involves the audience and of course, there are no evil powerpoints!! Bwahahaha! But I will have notecards..

I came up with the Workshop idea after seeing Chronicles of Narnia on the drive home..

I hope it will be fun..


Elevator People (Again)

WHAT THE HELL IS WITH PEOPLE??????????!!!!!!!

I mean I realize LAZY people need to use the elevator, too, but......I'm FORCED to use the elevator! After finding 3-4 lots full, I parked on the 3rd level of the parking garage..FORCING me to take an elevator in Davidson Hall..Well, one of the two elevators was out of order, so I waited 5-8 minutes for an elevator..THEN the door practically shuts on me, because no matter how many times or how loud I shout "COULD YOU HOLD THE DOOR, PLEASE?????!!!!", they didn't hear or didn't care because the elevator full of lazy people that could easily have walked, what, 30-40 steps or so were in a conversation about living off of a certain street and how they were better than some other guy off some other street..

brb..gotta eat..
