Voting was over soon after I posted my last post..voting started last Friday or Saturday and I haven't really been online all last weekend..

I changed my layout idea after I began looking for pictures..I found a motherload of usable pictures and I'm gonna make a layout series using the same source of pictures for 3-4 layouts..but they'll be different..the pictures aren't even Christmas related, but I hope to tie them into the season..

That means I woun't uplade for a while..but I'll at least try to get the grey Matter tutorial done..

Other than that, I've been day dreaming too much again..Instead of feeling just unnoticed, I'm now feeling invisible..At Teays Valley, I was often put in groups with people who didn't care, so I would usually take the leadership position and come up with the ideas..I got the other group members to do jobs that were related to something they liked doing..even if they didn't give a crap, I told them to at least speak in the presentation..and then if I get an idea from one of them I credit them..like when we did the American Government project with individuality..the teacher was explaining it to my group and my friend said that it reminded her of those "Priceless" commercials..so that gave me the idea for the poster..I described things that a person would buy to express their identity and then said "Individuality: Priceless"..at the bottom was pictures of many different people and around them, it said "I am an American"..like that other commercial, ya know? Then when people say they like the poster, I said where the idea came from: my friend, Missy..Now in college, I was put in a group with two other leaders, so I ended up being number 4 or 5 on the "power of the group" scale..THEN I suggest we "play act a scene of someone coming into rent jewelry and how the process would go..you know, have someone look like they're typing at a computer and walk into the store.."..the teacher LOVED the idea..2 seconds later, the leader of the group, with her back to me, told everyone else in the group HER idea was to "play act someone using our services..you know, have someone pretent to type at a computer and stuff.."..Maybe I should just keep my big mouth shut..at least online if someone "steals" my idea, they wouldn't do it the SAME way I would do it..no one else will make a lyric site like Lyric Freaky or a tutorial site like Help Wanted (at least not until after I make them)..I'm just tried and afraid of being invisible when it really counts..

Well, I spent my morning writing and speaking my part of the presentation..I found out that I can speak pretty clearly when I want to..Speech class, here I come! Maybe I could do what that one teacher suggested: Voice acting or something on the radio..I also noticed that after speaking the paper over and over again, I sang with better voice and tone quality :o) I want to join the choir :o( I need to learn how to drive!!! Then I could join..hopefully by next Fall or even Summer..

It's Christmas time and I'm making an a cappella Christmas mix tape!!! Wee! My last Christmas mix tape that I made 2 years ago isn't that bad..but I'm obsessed with a cappella harmonies..AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! That would make an awesome Christmas layout! hmm..

Oh, yeah, before I forget: OHIO STATE WON!!!!!!! WEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Too bad people rioted and tore up part of Columbus..but it would be worse if Michigan won..

So we talked about color today in 2D Design class..and I found out again just how dark I think..We had to make value scales with gray the other day and my number 5 I put as number 3 (going from White to Black)..and today we are making value scales with a color..I ended up picking red..most of my squares are brown :o(..I just think it's weird that I like the darker tones so much better..the teacher pointed out my shirt which I always thought was red with blue "88" outlined in white..after he pointed out my shirt, it now continues to look like magenta-ish because of the purple in it..the makers of the shirt maybe did that so that it would work together with the blue better..

I got to see some of the teacher's artwork..it was neat :o) I got inspired by this book thing he did..he took different clip art pics and put them together to make pictures..like he put a dalmation with firemen, fire, and a fire hydrent and made a scene one of it..I wanna do that :o)..

I have/have had a layout idea for ..With the Works ..I guess I'll get to it later..it's based on a famous painting..

After gathering Ilaria's old blends together, it makes me wanna enter some blend contests..but I have more things to do with layouts and school before I can do that..The quarter ends on the 16th(?) and some classes don't have finals, so I don't necessarily show up for the final class..

I guess Intro to Computer Graphics is mostly web publishing..Wee, I already know most of that stuff, so having it on only Fridays won't bother me..I guess we make web site layouts and logos and fix photographs..

I am REALLY hoping to take Intro to B&W Photography in the spring..hopefully I'll have 700+ dollars to spend on Advanced B&W Photography and Intro to Psychology in the summer since my financial aid won't pay for the summer or non-required classes..so taking Japanese or German is out of the question..what would be cool is that I could use my photography knowledge to get paid for it somehow and use the money to go to CCAD for 4 years of Fashion Design/Media Studies/Advertising and Graphic Design..I know I could get a lot of money with photography..Senior portraits cost anywhere from 200-1500 dollars now..film and processing doesn't cost that much, so you KNOW those photographers are getting lots of profit..but I'm too nice, I'd have the customer pay 150-200% of the cost of the rolls of film and a small amount per half hour of photography and processing..THEN the customer gets to pick out their own pictures and pays for multiples/size changes..that way it's worth the money they're paying..plus, the amount of outfits and sets would depend on how fast the person can change and pose :o)

Geez..I really don't wanna wait 'till Spring..plus I gotta get money for the right equipment..

Other than that, Tay's happy 'cuz he got a new computer..But I know the Nambian dude isn't..

I made sure everyone had everything backed up before switching servers..too bad terrible bad luck had to strike Ilaria..I didn't know her computer crashed..I switched thinking she could just easily upload her site..but I guess all of her files died..I tried using my old IP address to see if her files were still on the old server, but they weren't..I feel REALLY bad that I didn't make an extra back up just in case this happened..I mean losing files is one thing, but losing art work is horrifying to think about..at least to me anyway..so I'm trying to help find some of her old digital artwork and blends that might be archived at some of the blend sites out there..I wanted to ask you visitors to see if you could help out, too..If you see one of her blends somewhere (easy to find, I mean how many Ilaria's are out there?), e-mail me the address or attach it and e-mail me..this also goes with any awards she won..

I want her to be able to download her lost artwork..

I metaphorically wave frantically saying "Hey, hey, look what I can do!"..as the camera zooms out to show that I'm no larger than an ant..

I don't get to show off my talents (digital art/webdesign/etc) very often..so I'm happy when I can and hope to get noticed enough for people to say, "Yeah, Hope's stuff is cool" or "Ask Hope, she seems to know that stuff..she could help you." but even after all these years, the only ones who notice me are other [younger, more talented] web designers across the world..my parents are really the only non-web people that think I'm good at what I do..my dad does web design, but he's not visiting my site daily like my other web fans..I hope to inspire people through my work, but how am I going to do that if no one knows who I am or what I do?

I "bull crapped" my Multimedia project this morning..I made this page because the teacher wanted the pages to be simple and done all in HTML..I could've done iframes, tables, some rollovers, but that sounded like a whole new site to me..plus, I'm used to using FrontPage for some of my sites (mostly to view, make sitemaps and other complicated DHTML and Java, and to make the sites faster than I would if I had to type everything out each time for hundreds of pages)..I put links (ooh, so advanced! *rolls eyes*) to my sites (so people know I have a little more HTML/web design knowledge than that one page) and featured one of my art works (Tay's fansign)..that was one of my better ones, too..

But (sigh) yeah, "ooh look at Hope she can do links and insert pictures!" and "Oh, wait, look at Evan, he's got a table in his SITE and it features his artwork!" and someone else did theirs in a WYSIWYG..I was just waiting to hear that Evan had a site map, which unless you are some kind of HTML genious like Kitty, you have to use a WYSIWYG for..

I guess there are many web designers out there saying that they won't accept PageBuilder or WYSIWYG sites because all those people do is type and insert and have little HTML knowledge..The weird thing is that according to my Multimedia class, most professional web designers use DreamWeaver..which is like a better version of Front Page..I use FrontPage, but do a lot with HTML (like iframes, 'cuz they don't show in FrontPage)..Plus, say that webdesigner is someplace where they don't have DreamWeaver or FrontPage, they have to know how to edit in HTML..

I put Tay's fansign on the page 'cuz he liked it enought to put it in his blog..so I thought It would be my way of showing off that I know PSP7 pretty well..actually now that I think about it, all it shows is borders, layers, drop shaddows, text, and lines..no a big deal, I guess..

Sol claims to be depressed..if he's depressed, then I'm Bipolar 'cuz I get HYPER HYPER HYPER, then seriously depressed..usually it's only once or twice a month, but a lot of times it's throughout the day..I have violent mood swings..maybe it's just because I'm Cancerian..I'm not going to shrink about it 'cuz they'd probably give me medicine for it..see I'm weird, some psychiatrists think that depression and mania is caused by unbalanced chemicals (like Saratonin) in the brain..The info Sol found on the subject says they don't know what causes it..I say it's an imbalance of energy..I believe that a person will be happy near happy people and sad near sad people..sometimes if there is too much negativity, the person that becomes depressed by it will block out other energies because they feel too bad to really be open to other energies..plus, the depressed person would be more likely to shy away from people (even the happy ones) and the people around them automatically sheild themselves from the depressed person's energy field because they don't want to be depressed..so the person never gets the positive energy they need and the negativity just eats away at them and they get worse..I believe mania is the opposite where the person has too much positive energy and thus, can't sleep and does everything faster and more of it..They are more likely to block out other energies and people in fear that they will slow them down.."Normal" people have been conditioned to be less sensitive and even the sensitive people are exposed to many different energies daily, but no totally negative or totally positive ones enough for it to effect them seriously..

So I go to class today and practically fall asleep..not because of the teacher who tries her darndest to keep us awake, but because I was bored with just checking my e-mail..I didn't have anything anyways..except tons of e-mail viruses and porn advertisements..oh, yeah by the way, DO NOT open any e-mail attachments with MZ? in the body..it's a virus..like, duh..my dad didn't know and he tried to download the files and Norton got it..After class, I found out that I didn't have my ID..I actually thought I lost it, but then remembered that I had to scan it to fax to the Domain Name registrar to change my account..it's probably sitting in my scanner..oh, wait..I thought I last used my ID on Friday which means I had my ID on Friday and I scanned it the day before..but then I remembered that I ate lunch with the Table of Insanity on Friday and didn't go to the CC..of course it was Friday, so only Jon and Megan were left..a new girl Martha came and joined us..she fit right in! I guess Jon wants to be president someday..how cool is that?? The sucky thing would be if he was our first black president..hello, shouldn't we have a black president within 20-30 years? He thought it would be cool to become part of history if it came out that way..He would make a great president because he cares about people and has great ideas and probably wouldn't let corporate businesses or other office members control what he does..

Well, anyway, I thought I needed an ID to use the Computer Commons, so I went to the library..guess what..the automatic handicap door was out of order and I wasn't gonna wait in 35-40 degree weather for someone to open the door..So I went to the Computer Commons..on the way, I saw 4 guys (one guy had longer hair than me) playing hacky sack (sp?)..I asked if I could get their picture (with my rinky-dink one time use camera..when will I ever get a decent camera???)..they stopped for a moment and I was like, "Continue.." and they started playing again..they were really good, too..they could jump 2 feet in the air to pick up the ball..I got a picture of them playing, then a neat picture of one of them jumping to pick up the ball, and one not-so-good one of them playing..I also took a picture of this one neat outdoor sculpture thingy..the nice guy at the sign-in place at the CC has let me in without an ID..

Y'all are watching Planet of the Apes too much! That's why my company whille make it available for alterations to be made..and eventually take the average mesurements and order mostly those (and still offer adjestments)..

I'm tired and I've blogged too much today already..what was it, like 6 entries today? I just wanted to say that I'm planning to set up some tutorials and information request forms for anybody wanting to know anything about HTML, FrontPage, FTP, [a little bit of] GreyMatter, iFrames, PSP7, [basic] CSS..um..not that people really need my help, but I also know my way around Word, Excel, Access, and some PowerPoint..I'll have that up until I get my "Help Wanted" tutorial site up..

I entered M00nwalk Awards today, but I doubt I would ever win..the award site is ran by Toren at Jacq's domain and has nominees like him and her..they all are these talented young people that make layouts every 2 days..their layouts feature a celebrity and vertical lines..they probably got used to that and think it's the gratest design (ever seen that CSI episode with the little people saying that humans among other animals are self-centered and prefer to see people that look like themselves? This also happens with design)..I'm the weird one who is attracted by my opposite (dark skinned, tall, thin, dancer guys with big hands)..and that shows in my designs..that I wanna think different..yeah, all of the other nominees' sites look GREAT, but after being in 2D Design for 10 hours a week I notice the similarities..I try to stand out by not having celebrity layouts (this is the first one in 4 months) that run totally vertical on the page..Version 4 was horizontal and Version 5 was off set by the strong right to left downward diagonal..this version is round and broken (see Mrs. Najjar?? I used white space :o) )..I wish I could make layout changes every two days, but I go to college 32 hours a week and run 3 sites, trying to reopen 3 sites, and trying to create 4 more sites..I just hope I have a chance of winning despite the fact I'm up against the young, talented, popular webdesigners..

New layout, new server, new phone!

Sorry that my layout is so huge..I didn't want small pictures, so I had to change the resolution..
My new server rocks, the tech support gets back to me within the hour rather than 12 hours!
My dad got my a cute phone (see it in the Cam pic)..I love it! The rigtones are like midis and there are some games on it, too!

Oh, yeah..and I got two new wallpapers up featuring Britney and Christina..

I'll be adding more stuff tonight hopefully..

Geez..what the heck? Why am I so...high/flustered/nervous..this is just weird..We were beginning HTML today and I set up a page to help show people basic HTML..I even ended up helping the teacher a little with the paths of the image files (or "fouls" as she says in her accent)..

BTW, Tay is still trying to sell his Guns N Roses tickes..go here to bid on them!

Lately, I've been turning in assignments SO late..I've been day dreaming too much..If my life was a little more interesting, I woudn't day dream as much and get off task..at least today I made Ella's enter graphic and set up her email..I still have the Ad Obsession awards to make along with the Guess the... awards..also Ilaria and Lily and Michelle have new layouts..so I've gotta update their tags..I want to switch servers, but I want to give the hostees a notice at least 2 days before and I keep forgeting and so I never move..I have a layout idea featuring Britney Spears (SHOCK! an actual celebrity layout??)..still going with the gray scale thing for some reason..I'll be using this other picture of Britney for Lyric Freaky..I've gotta listen to and jot down 500-1000 songs as soon as I can..I want the site to reopen Thanksgiving weekend..

Carrie's on tonight!!!! I'm a Stephen King FREAK! From the commercials, I think this new version will be more like the book (which I'm reading for the 4th time)..They looked as if they modernized it (I mean come on, the book was made in the 70s and the movie has a computer)..I HATED the original movie..this book is worth a nice 2-3 hour movie, yet the original was 90min. and 10 of those minutes were of nude girls running like baywatch lifeguards though a steamy locker room..you know a guy made it..THEN had to change the ending because they ran out of time to do the WRITTEN version of the ending..The book is great! It goes fast, written visually so I can "see" it like a movie, has "thematic symbology" throughout the book and throughout King's works, and has parapsychology in it (like most of his works)..These "themes" are usually things taken from literature and religious texts..Shakespeare did this too by making puns on the words used in a scene..In Carrie, there is the thing about blood (you know, her getting her period, then later having pigs blood dumped on her) this was shown in the original movie..BUT there are other themes that could add a great touch to the movie..they're subtle, but work..like this thing with rocks and stones..The stones fall on the house when she was three, they're is a picture on the wall with a sinner trying to hide under a rock, there is even dialog making puns like when Sue says, "I'm in no position to throw stones."..even though this also is a Bible allusion and also symbolizes the way the girls with throwing things at Carrie at the beginning as if they were stoning her..I know I'm going WAY too in dept and thinking too hard when I read these books, but I can't help it..my mind likes patterns and I think the reason King is so popular is because these themes, allusions, and symbology affect our psyche in a way that makes us crave these types of stimuli from a story..My question is why don't they put those themes in the movies based on the book? The Green Mile, Langoliers, Dead Zone, It, and the Stand weren't too bad..The newer ones show them more..I also like that the newer ones show the parapsychology aspect..I would come up with a theory only to read it in the next Stephen King book I pick up..TK ability in Carrie, Autism in the Regulators, precognition in Dead Zone, etc..That's another reason why Carrie and Carrie 2 (which wasn't written by King) SUCK!! They made Carrie seem so evil..when in the book, she's just a normal person who finally just snaps after all of the years of mental and physical torture..and the TK was inherited..Maybe if they show the paraspychology aspect a little more, then maybe people would be a little more tolerant of people with those abilities..

Ok, enough of my going on and on and on about a book and the movie based on it..hmm..maybe it's just those cinematographer tendencies making me think it's such a big thing..

I spent 3 hours yesterday making my Pepsi can costume and used up almost all of my blue and white acrylic paint..it looked good..my mom was trying to fit it on me to tell me where to put the arm holes..she ended up putting it on me upside down and I didn't even think to look until AFTER I cute slits for my arms..I taped them back up, but Scotch tape on acrylic paint looks sucky..on the way there, I only saw one person dressed up..at school I saw NO ONE..scary for me because I only dress up when someone else dresses up..I knew my friend Rachel was going to dress as a leopard, so I desided to wear my costume..the arm slits didn't work and in the end everything tore to pieces..sounds sad doesn't it? Not really..I had fun making and screwing up my costume..

One great psychology experiment is to bring in free candy for college students..at my high school I would bring candy for Halloween and Christmas and would always run out..EVERYONE hungry or not would rush up an get some..well, I brought in candy yesterday and only some girls and few of the guys would take some..some of the more outgoing guys would keep coming back..I noticed the REALLY thin people would get this sick look on their face while the shy people would just glance at my bag every two seconds..hello! I said in a very loud voice millions of times "Fee candy??"..then today, EVERYONE looked sick when I mentioned candy..it cracks me up because in high school strangers would even walk by and say, "Ooh, can I have some??" Maybe it's because we had candy fund raisers every two weeks at Teays Valley, but no one even looks interested here..

Also, another thing..at Teays Valley almost EVERYONE would have fun dressing up for Homecoming Spirit Week..here at college, I saw only 7 people dressed up (I took pictures, too! 5 of those people were the people I eat lunch with..Jon (who was so nice to help me with the copy machine when we ended up being in the area at the same time) was originally dressed as the Grim Reaper, but took off his costume later..and Randy (the Chris Tucker look-a-like) dressed himself and his son as vampires..Catty and Rachel dressed up as cats..the tails with homemade out of wire and faux fur..Catty's tail ROCKED! when she would walk or stand swaying her hips slightly, her tail moved SO realisticly..

I looked at the College Directory again because I signed up for these classes yesterday:

Monday and Wednesday:
Understanding the Digital Revolution at 11am - 1pm
Introduction to Computer Graphics at 1pm - 4pm
Humanities 1 at 5:30pm - 7:30pm
Tuesday and Thursday:
Speech at 3:30pm - 4:45pm
Friday:
Essay and Research at Noon - 2:30pm
