I set up the site so no one can direct link..I had to pay 25 dollars extra this month because of bandwidth theft..I also put it on //michelle because that's the site most people are stealing from, but I'll soon put it on //sam and the other subdomains..people love your graphics guys..I'm just trying to protect them..
I meant to ask everyone this about a week ago..has anyone (in the eastern US) have increased number of hauntings or have vertigo, weird noises, headaches, etc.?
When the whales beached them selves on Friday, April 18th, I thought "There is going to be an earthquake in the lower eastern US.." mostly because the whales could get confused when the geomagnetic fields change..they beached in the Florida Keys (for more info, go here: http://www.click10.com/sh/news/florida/stories/news-florida-212238620030418-110409.html
Then my mom starts hearing our ghost's footsteps and stuff again and last Thursday, I get haunted BIG TIME (I'll explain more when I get the time)..then last weekend I see this show about haughtings on the SciFi channel that aired Tuesday..I noticed that the huanting got REALLY powerful near the time of that really big earthquake and thought that maybe increased hauntings could predict earthquakes (and thus more ghost orbs would appear in photos)..
so for about 2 weeks, I have been predicting an earthquake to occur somewhere here in the east..
This morning, I wake up with vertigo..guess what! There was an earthquake in the southeast!!! so HAAAAAAA! I'm NOT crazy!!!! I know what I'm talking about ..sorta.. but still, I predicted it didn't I??
for more info on the Quake: http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/nation/20030429-1311-southernearthquake.html
So the next time there is a whale beaching AND an increase of hauntings..BEWARE lol..
I'll update later today..right now, I'm late for school..
Today is the first day of registration for Summer quarter..since I'm one of the 100 people trying to get into Advanced B/W Photography (which only seats 16 and is only during the summer) and Vocal Techniques (which only seats 8)..I stayed up and tried to register at midnight..I tried on the web and phone..the college didn't have the system set up until 12:20am, and my roadrunner was acting slow, but I GOT IN!!!!
Here's my schedule for summer:
Tuesdays and Thursdays:
Advanced Black and White Photography - 9:00am to 12:00pm
Vocal Techniques (just Tues) - 2:00pm to 3:50pm
Introduction to Psychology - 5:30pm to 7:50pm
WEEEEEEEE!
*daydreams about Charlie* Yeah, right, like Charlie will decide to go to school in the summer
*sigh* I miss him and I wasn't even that close to the guy, yet he's the kind of person to leave a lasting impression on ya..
But recently..
The dramatic irony that was in my favor as exploded into many akward moments with my friend..gawd, he's so shy..but it's cute to watch him get nervous..FINALLY someone comments nicely on my appearence..
[class is starting..gotta go..]
Yeah, it's taking me forever to get my crap done..I think I'll be uploading the new layout tonight or tomorrow morning..or if my dad is on the computer, Tuesday morning..The second post will feature the new sites (they're already on the hostees' page if you wanna see them) and the new layouts and pages..the layout isn't the best..basically I was trying to learn PS6 and 7 and making PSDs and crap..hopefully, I'll have time soon to make a new layout (a more whatever creations-ish layout)..posibly featuring my photography..(Like the motion assignment)..so I'll talk more soon!
Note to Michelle: I hope you have everything switched over to your subdomain 'cuz I'm changing things in /michelle (the one you said I could delete)..I'm changing the smileys mostly to get back at the people stealing my bandwidth..They were stealing them off YOUR page and not giving YOU credit for at least hosting them (since they were too lazy to save them and upload them to their server)..so I'm being a little evil and changing your graphics that I will eventually delete like originally planned (your current subdomain will not be touched)..I'm not destroying the originals until next month, so your graphics (in /Michelle) are still safe as well..
I have my layout 99 % set up here at home..it's not the "Terrorist" one I originally planned (that might come in July)..but it's based on Spring Quarter..the background looks like a Color composition assignment and I have Christina Aguilera in it because my friend likes to listen to "Dirty"..then I also used techniques that we learned in Electronic Imaging..thanks to Michelle, I now know how to create transparent iFrames..it will help with my bandwidth (this background picture of Britney is using a LOT of bandwdth because it loads each time someone looks at a page)..
I'm wanting to get into doing so-called "Vector" art..um..yeah, the confusing thing is that it doesn't use vector images..the misuse of the word is SO rampant right now, does any one know what a "Vector Image" really is? (For those in Multimedia/Graphic Design/etc., don't answer 'cuz I know you know..I want the talented middle/high school kids to answer)..
I thought I totally bombed my Electronic Imaging quiz 'cuz my teacher read off the answers..and he said the Bonus Question was defining "Saturation" and said the answer was the "purity of color"..I didn't study so I had to remember where I heard the words before..well I thought in science/health class, "Saturation" meant how much of one thing is desolved in another like salt in water and satuarated fat..and that "oversaturation" meant that part of the dissolving matter couldn't desolve because there was too much of it or something..then I thought that Art programs were based on photography techniques..and thought that maybe the "Saturation" was how saturated the printing paper was in the Developer..the longer and more saturated the more color/image would appear..so I wrote down "adding more color" some how that got me 6 bonus points..and also I wrote down other SUPPOSEDLY wrong answers (based on what I hear in my other design classes) and got them right too..I didn't get "Vector" right because I used it in a different sense that my MMPT 101 and 111 used it..
As for photography..my photograms didn't come out as well as I wanted..but the first one (the one I TRIED to design) was my favorite after tried to make abstract images on the last 7..also, my first row of film: We were evacuated that afternoon and I haven't rewound a rool of 35mm for about 2-3 years so I asked my friend and one of us wound it the wrong way and it made a fold in the film..when I felt that in the dark room, I was like "This isn't right"..the last 6 pictures came out light purple..and the first 12 pictures were under exposed pictures of my cats of course, but some did come out ok (on the negative at least)..today I need to take more "bracketing" shots..yesturday, I did the ones of my friend John wrong..I metered him in the shade and took picutres of him in the light..I got tired of taking pictured with the person in the center of the frame, so I took shots of my friend Megan standing to the far left of a tree..since I meatered off of (and focused on) her in the shade and the (blurry) tree is in the light, I'm expecting her to be a little back lit, but maybe she will have some detail and if the tree had any detail it would be a little blurry in contrast to her..heck, I just hope they turn out ok..This is why I like DIGITAL photography..I know right away if it sucks, rather than torturing my arms processing it..I forgot to ask the teacher about it but today I'll take shots of the City of Columbus (for the view outside the 3rd level of the parking garage..trust me, it's BEAUTIFUL!!) and of the Staute of Columbus (Christopher, that is)..all this by 6pm tonight..I just need one good set for the printed part and even though I'll turn in that thumbnail thingy..
Hey, folks, the next post should be after I have uploaded the new layout..I'll also be setting up one of the hostees' site and her and another's Grey Matter this weekend..the next post will announce the new sites and new layouts and plugs for my Fans and friends from school..
That's about it for now!
Sorry that I haven't installed Grey Matter in two on my hostees' sites..I've been very busy lately..I can't believe Color Composition homework took me 3-4 hours and then I spent another 2-3 hours organizing the Color Aid thing into rainbow order..I HATE SQUARES ALREADY!!!! As for photography, I haven't been able to get anyone to drive me anywhere so I've been stuck at home taking pictures of my beautiful cats as they sleep in the Family Room..Puddin' actually poses..that's why I call her the "model-kitty" while Angel keeps moving..not a good thing when I have the shutter speed at 30 and the aperture at 3.5..appearently my pictures will STILL turn out too dim..I didn't know that our house was so dark..today, we get to make photograms! For those who don't know (like me last week) it's basically putting objects on photosensitive paper and exposing it to light so that the objects that block the light turn white/gray..they look similar to the x-rays on "the Ring"..I went scavenging and decided on a theme or two (we didn't need to, but we get extra credit if we do) and the first one is "Photography" (kinda original, but watch everyone else do that one, too) where I'm using a cable release, two types of film things, a 35mm film container, hopefully some bad film aquired from the teacher, etc...then I have a couple of moving things like a handheld fan (hopefully it will look like a strange lolipop..instead of a more obscene object..heh..) and BUBBLES ON PLASTIC WRAP..wee!..but watch, these people are pretty smart and creative so we'll all probably bring bubbles..but whatever..I also got light-up smiley pens to make a neat "how'd you do that design"..so yeah, can you tell I'm having fun in Photography?? The teacher is great, too..he looks a lot like Rob (I think that's his name, you know the one with the big nose that works really well with his face?) from Survivor..the other day when I showed up early, I was reading F 451 and he was like "Quit your reading!" and I was like "Why?" and he was like "You might actually learn something." and Then was like "Remember, you only have a certain amount of space in your brain and you should save it for Photography." I thought that was funny..but then when he was setting up everything he started singing an old 80s/90s rap about staying in school..I think teachers (especially art teachers) should be like that..that way, the students can tell the teacher enjoys teaching and will give them more respect than if the teacher hated their job and droned on and on and on about the subject..the students won't care about a class if they can tell the teacher doesn't want to be there anymore than they do..but then again I'm talking about Photography (an elective) compared to a required class..students are more interested in a class they picked than the class that is required..
Other than that, my friend John (or Captain Keychain as we sometimes call him) got attacked by a homeless person a couple of days ago..I guess they hit him in the head hard enough to give him a "contusion" (sp?) and he defended himself very well with his 5+ pound key chain that is a combination of chains, locks, etc..he went to Grant and came to school yesterday with two bandages on his head..then also yeasterday, he starts wearing these Matrix/sleek wrap around sunglasses..add his keychain on his shoulder and he looks as if he should be in an action movie! I wanted a picture, but he had to go to work..but it's funny because he a sweet guy who wouldn't hurt a fly unless the fly was attacking a friend with a butcher knife type thing, yet he looks really tough and when we were talking about our ideas for the best wedding (like my toga party idea), he described a WWF Wrestling idea..so that's cool..
So I didn't finish my last post..but y'all get what I was tryin' to say..
Yesterday I went to Color Composition and found out that I needed to buy $150 worth of art meterials..and then a book that was written in the 30s by a racist guy who is REALLY against blacks and Jews and has theories about what blond-haired-blue-eyed people would like and what brown-haired-dark-eyed people would like and the teacher said "what if you had dark hair and blue eyes?"..this whole time I thought my Photography class started at 7pm so I got my dad to take me to an art supply store..GAWD I wish I heard about this place two quarters ago..it had ALL of the paint that I went to 4 different stores for and still couldn't find..so about 6:30pm, we head back to campus and this whole time I'm doubting that the class starts at 7pm, but ignore my intuition because I so ofen second guess myself..well what do you know? My class started at 6pm instead..well I get there at 6:45pm..the teacher's nice and looks like a mixture of Mr. Crandall, my HS choir teacher, and Ray Ramono..only 4 of us haven't alread had one to two years of photography in High School..so they expect me to have a camera and I didn't know which one to get..(I went to Wally World/WalMart and they didn't have the one I needed)..I guess I have to get out of my wheelchair to go into the changing room, but that's not very hard..the door is like a funhouse door..and then he tells us we have to change the film over in pitch black..someone was disappointed that there wasn't a red light like in the movies..later on we went into another room and the teacher said that he didn't mean to disappoint us again *turns of light* but the light is amber-colored..I thought it made everyone sepia colored..I can't wait to start taking pictures!!! I'm looking for a lightweight (pound or less) camera for about 150 dollars..I only found them online so far since Wally World had only 2 cameras and they were automatic..the bad thing is that B&W film costs more and I'm a picture freak and I'll probably use it up fast..that's why I want to buy a digital camera so I don't waste film..
Today in class we learned about Photoshop mask layers..gawd I feel so ignorant! I learned it quick, I just think that I should've known this stuff years ago..too bad that Photoshop is too expensive and I have to find someone to burn me the upgrade..but since masking in PS could do the same effect as my OLD way of blending in PSP, I'll try to write up another tutorial for PS users, not that they don't already know..
Well, I'm gonna go eat now (since it's 3pm) and go to Typography..
