Labor Day 2004

On September 6th, 2004, I went to my friends Crystal and David's house for a barbeque..here are the "snapshots" (meaning no real try at composition) of the day..I don't like on camera flash, but oh, well..also, the 400 px wide ones are video captures and that is why they are smaller and grainier..I might add the videos to the site as well, soon..

Well, I get to the party 30-45 min. late, as usual, but at least I got to come, have fun and got to see my friends again for the first time since May!

We talked about hurricanes and I got to see Virginia and David's artwork..THEY CAN DRAW SO WELL!!! I might get to make a site for Virginia soon..Well, David, Crystal's husband, came in with an apron on and a spatula in his hand and yelled at us jokingly and told us to go out and eat with the others..Mark had already went out and came back in with a hot dog and held it up to him saying, "mmhfm..smfs...mmdmmvf."..meaning, "I have a hot dog."..it was funny! But we ended up going outside..

Dylan, Christina's son, and Cain, Susan's son were outside..oh, my gawd, the last time I saw Cain was Memorial Day and he was 2 1/2 or so and although he wanted to talk what seemed to be intelligent thoughts, he wasn't about to form words well at the time..well, now he's a foot taller and speaks so well!! and he's 3 now :o) Kids rock! Well, I LOVE taking pictures of kids, so I asked them if I could take their picture..the funniest thing is that Dylan can't smile correctly and it looks forced..I usually don't see that in people under age 9..

I decided to take some video of the kids..I told them to dance or something so Dylan goes back and forth close and far from the camera..it reminded me of a rap video a little..the whole time, Cain was watching Dylan and trying to mimic and learn from him..

They were having fun with this and got to see the video on the camera and stuff..Cain wanted to dance on video, too!

We had great food! I had a hamburger and mac and cheese..then I heard they had what I call "blocky cheese"..I had blocky cheese at Connie's wedding and LOVED it, so I just HAD to have some at this party..I eat like, 7 blocks and then look at the label..it was 110 calories a block!!!! oh, crap! So I ate 3 bowls of salad to "make up for it"..it must have worked cuz I didn't gain any weight really..

Johnny finally arrived and Haylee was so happy to see her future step-father! It's so sweet!

Well, when we were eating, David asks Josh (who's gay and has fun with that fact), "Where's your dress? I thought you said that you were dressing up!" So Josh looks at Crystal and says, "Crystal, can I raid your closet??" So later on, they all panned that Josh with get dressed in a dress and Virginia would put make up on him..They also convinced Johnny (who's straight) to dress in a dress and he agreed! He wouldn't have done that a year ago..he confidence has gone up a lot since then..

Do you want your, uh, lips turn like, a bloody red color? Mm... Yeah, yeah, yeah..if you do it like vampire..."


Christina (o.s.): "The guy goes, 'Chris, are you feeling my butt?"	Christina (o.s.): "I said, 'No, but I think you should look behind you, there's somebody I used to work with..." Virginia (o.s. to Josh): "You are a natural, hun."	Christina (o.s.): "[Name omited] is a nightmare man..."	Me (o.s.): "So how do you like being, uh, made up?"


Josh: "Fabulous!"	Christina (o.s.): "...Angel food cake up his nose..."	Josh: "I wanna wait until I'm completely done..."	Josh: "...to see what I look like."
