I had a migraine last night and woke up feeling sore with a migraine this morning. I also watched/listened to creepy stories (but I’m sure those won’t show up for two to 10 days).
I remember three “short” dreams:
I was living in an apartment with a significant other and his young-looking mom was visiting. I remember calling her “mom” as a nickname, which I think she thought was cool.
Somehow, the area below our sink caught fire. My husband/fiance (in the dream) was out getting something at the store. I could smell the fire and see/hear it burning in the sink drain.
I tried running water on it, throwing other liquids (like milk and juice) down the drain, plugging it up and filling it with water then unplugging it to put even more water down there. It took a long while, but it eventually went out. I was able to look down through the drain and found there was a large open area with a river down below.
(Note: I had called off work via email and decide to respond to a reply email after an hour nap since I couldn’t see straight thanks to a headache. I passed out for four hours.)
I dreamed I argued with a co-worker saying I wouldn’t mind working from home today, as long as I get paid.
(Note: I’m writing a time traveler story and have been researching 1918 Columbus, which includes the amusement parks that were in town.)
I dreamed I was at a traveling carnival at night in the parking lot of the Giant Eagle at Olentangy and N. High streets. Some guy was telling me about Olentangy Park and I traveled back in time and became a character who was on a date with her boyfriend. He had planned to ask my character to marry him while at the top of the Ferris wheel because my character liked heights.
The guy had made an arrangement to have the Ferris wheel to ourselves. It was strange, though, because it wasn’t like the 2000s Ferris wheels with long seats. This one had two separate “cage” seats for one person each. It looked old with the beginnings of rust and the white paint was flaking off. We got in and it took us up to about the 2 O’clock position. We could see the city to the south (small, and mostly in the distance) lit up in mostly yellow/white lights lining N. High Street.
There were elements of the future, like a billboard right in front of us. The guy was able to move it with his hands out of the way for a better view. He also claimed there used to be a waterfall right in front of where we were. I didn’t believe him because Columbus is relatively flat. How would they have created and then later moved a large waterfall?
He proposed to me, but I had to tell him that I was from the future in this character’s body and he said he’d repropose once she returned in 24-hours. We hung out for a day and it was sorta sad to go back to the future.
Note (11/02/13): I recently checked out a book that had information about Olentangy Park – there WAS a waterfall at the end of the swimming pool.
