I remember playing a “dream game” or dreamed I was in a video game.
I remember rushing out of some large building and one hallway doorway entrance had plastic strips sectioning it off – the kind I’ve seen in stores that section off the warehouse or storage areas. I remembered going through there once and knowing where it led. Instead of going through there, I turned right and went out of the door and into some area under some highways. It looked like a place I’ve seen in other dreams.
The land went down into a valley and there were AI characters in a group protesting. They had signs, but my favorite was the one with the sign that read, “This is a sign on a stick.” They started moving as I tried to get a picture. They marched in a line around a building and I kept trying to trip them to see what the game creators programmed the AI to do. Many actually avoided me as if they knew what I might do. The ones that I successfully tripped got up looked at me confusedly and went back to the march like it was some flock of Canada geese (note: I actually tried to interrupt a group of Canada geese like this a couple of years ago and got the same response.).
I remember one scene where I put a headscarf over my hair that was made of some kind of cool fabric that was waterproof so I could walk in the rain without an umbrella. However, some security guys were looking at some (I’m guessing) Muslim women suspiciously, then looked at me that way because I was keeping my hair dry with kickass future fabric. I was frustrated that useful technology made me look suspicious.
I remember parking my car and taking a “shuttle” bus to some place I worked. I remember riding past an older (1950s?) low brick building with a gold logo. I called it the “West Union.” The bus went around a large median, possibly part of a large roundabout with newly planted spring flowers and those white blooming trees. I thought about how I didn’t park THAT far away, the bus just had to go around the place in one direction.
I remember going under an underpass – maybe a skywalk between buildings.
I later remember walking toward the building the offices were in. I had to go through a small courtyard the offices faced – they were on the second floor. The courtyard was paved with brick, but it seemed to have been neglected for some years. Tree roots were pushing up in places and weeds were growing in others.
I remembered the other times I was in that building. In the dream, it was a place I used to work or worked more often that I was visiting for some other job. I knew where the elevators were and where each hallway went and even remember parking in a lot behind the building.
In waking life, I have never been to a campus that looked like that, but I’m guessing based on weather and flowers that it was in the north/northeast America and in an older part of some larger city. The buildings seemed to have been built only 2-3 stories due to zoning at the time and I don’t remember any skyscrapers near the campus. The parking and bus system reminded me of a larger city, though.
I don’t remember the details, but I remember showing the dangers of “Dream Tech.”
It could change people’s beliefs and memories, thus changing their entire character. I showed an example of someone playing a character of a suicide bomber plotting and building the explosives, etc. up to the point of blowing himself up on a crowded street.
When questioned in character, he felt he had always felt this way. He had memories of feeling like he did then and what led to him wanting to do this act. He was super disoriented when we removed the influence of the dream tech program. I showed the people learning about the technology the “runner’s” (the guy playing the “dream game”) background file. He was not violent at all, easy going, no extreme feelings about anything, etc. He wouldn’t hurt a fly and would more likely save people than ever put them in danger.
Since I was explaining the technology uses similar parts of the brain as hypnotism, I was debunking the idea that people can’t be hypnotized to do something they wouldn’t ever do normally. I explained that to get a person to do things they object to, their back story needs to be recreated and come up first and always when remembering the past. We are who we are and do what we do as a result of the memories of our experiences.
