I remember working in a school and my office was basically my bedroom from the house I grew up in. I remember being in the clothes I went to bed in and was running late and was going to change into more professional clothing.
Before I could, I heard a knock at the door. A maintenance guy was installing a doorknob, but on the wrong side of the door. I told him he was the third guy to come around working on the door knobs and showed how the door opened and that there was a doorknob in the correct place as well. However, the incorrect one had a keyhole.
He said it was weird and left to check on why he was sent out. I closed the door and realized my door now had a huge window in it. I was frustrated because I really needed to get dressed and, although the hallway was rarely used, I wanted privacy.
I looked around for a solution and found two shower curtains, but they seemed like they were for households with young children. I chose the one that was pastel pink and peach with a strawberry picture near the center.
I am short, so I had to find someone to hang it up with tape. A guy looked in, then was called into the office next door by my office neighbor who is also my office neighbor in waking life.
I thought about asking the student or my office neighbor, but they were having a meeting.
Later, some high school people at their current age and appearance were visiting. My friend’s husband was tall, so I thought about asking him to hang the curtain. My friend taped a paper on the wood part of the door with a start of a list of children everyone in our class has had. She only had her kid at the moment and I said I’d look up the others and fill it out.
In my bedroom/office, I complained to a friend about the window issue and looked back and now, there was a window in a panel that was only in half of the door. I thought I could be more creative when it came to covering that area up. Then, I saw there was a maintenance guy installing wood instead of the window. I said, “Thank you, Door Guy, you just made my morning!”
Later, the group of high school friends were going to a funeral and were trying to find a florist. I remembered that there was a florist in town, but couldn’t remember where. Someone else looked it up on Google and said there were none nearby.
Later, the paper kept changing and the final one was a set of old pictures of people from our class Photoshopped to look like Polaroid pictures. They were listed as dead, but were put around images of me, who didn’t have a death date and I obviously was alive. I thought it was awful design because it made it look like I was dead.
I later got in an argument with my mom who said I had something scheduled for “the 26th” and I thought it was April and a Friday. I kept saying, “What do I have on the 26th???” I was angry because I’ve been missing so much work randomly for other things.
I have been busy traveling and being sick over the break, so I haven’t updated in a while, so I’ll put down some random details I remember.
Last night/this morning:
I remember being in a dark outdoor patio of a restaurant. I was writing down calculations for the tip I planned to give since I paid with my bank card. Some guy drove up and started talking to me. He was creepy and I think he might have been either hitting on me or was actually wanting me to approach his vehicle. I was annoyed because I couldn’t draw the number four very well and ran out of room to calculate my tip.
Other dreams over the break…
I remember having a decent-sized studio apartment with vertical blinds. I found out that there was a larger attached room I was paying for that had old equipment (desks, shelving, etc.) for a business. Someone came over and talked about removing the stuff. I pictured making the area my bedroom, even if it was the larger room.
I later found doors to unused offices in the room. One appeared to look into a gymnasium with people. It looked in the direction of my apartment, so I was worried it was one-way material and people could see me. I realized it was a still image on a wall.
Later, I remember going to lunch with my coworker/friend and another coworker was angry we chose a place far away that would take awhile. We promised to return by 3 p.m. and continue to work. I was parked in a paved parking lot behind the beige building we were in.
I later remember some kind of elevated train/roller coaster track for tourists outside of my window.
One of the dreams just before waking:
I was in a large classroom and I was talking to a coworker who got in trouble for downloading software onto his work tablet. It was only $10 and had something to do with cloud software for photos. The interface was white and tan.
I remember wanting to upload some old photos to the program to make them easier to organize.
I walked out of the room and remember driving up one of the streets at work (University Terrace, I think) and had to slam on my breaks because there was a modern construction sign that blocked the lane.
I remember driving onto the grass and it turned into a motorized wheelchair. I noticed that the parking lot that was “under construction” was overgrown with grass.
Eventually, my wheelchair ran out of battery juice and I realized I haven’t charged it in years.
I remember meeting with a coworker who said I missed a meeting and had work to do. I remember working on stuff from waking life, but I was frustrated with the timetable for the other work that needed to be done.
I remember a gray table that was shaped like an open book so it wasn’t flat. I thought it was dumb to design a table you couldn’t place stuff on.
I remember being in a wooded area and a lynx (here are some pictures: Pic 1 Pic 2 Pic 3) came up and jumped onto the SUV/car. The car had a sunroof and the cat looked in. I got out my phone and took a photo. I then somehow grabbed it, hugged it, then let it go. It freaked out from me grabbing it, but it wasn’t upset.
