I remember a scene where I was riding a motorcycle eastbound on OH-316 in my hometown and stopped just past the street that runs toward my parents’ house. I was thinking about a way or road through halfway up the road that would meet up with Route 23.
I remember being in a Speedway restroom and later going to a different one in town, closer to the work event in my dream.
I remember being at the work event in formal attire. Later, I remember singing along with Sara Bareilles’ “Love Song,” but I abruptly stopped when the host of the event came in and said we were going out of business and that it would be our last event like this. Since most of the people were required to attend, she said there was no reason to keep us. I planned to stay, but I woke up right after she said that because my alarm went off.
I remember parking my car and taking a “shuttle” bus to some place I worked. I remember riding past an older (1950s?) low brick building with a gold logo. I called it the “West Union.” The bus went around a large median, possibly part of a large roundabout with newly planted spring flowers and those white blooming trees. I thought about how I didn’t park THAT far away, the bus just had to go around the place in one direction.
I remember going under an underpass – maybe a skywalk between buildings.
I later remember walking toward the building the offices were in. I had to go through a small courtyard the offices faced – they were on the second floor. The courtyard was paved with brick, but it seemed to have been neglected for some years. Tree roots were pushing up in places and weeds were growing in others.
I remembered the other times I was in that building. In the dream, it was a place I used to work or worked more often that I was visiting for some other job. I knew where the elevators were and where each hallway went and even remember parking in a lot behind the building.
In waking life, I have never been to a campus that looked like that, but I’m guessing based on weather and flowers that it was in the north/northeast America and in an older part of some larger city. The buildings seemed to have been built only 2-3 stories due to zoning at the time and I don’t remember any skyscrapers near the campus. The parking and bus system reminded me of a larger city, though.
I didn’t get a lot of sleep, but what I remember is driving down a street with lots of stop signs and on all the street signs, there was a scrawled symbol. It looked like an upside-down Anarchy symbol and, in the dream, I associated it with a branch of anarchy or something with shared beliefs.
There was some guy riding a mountain bike to my right holding an uzi on his lap. I thought that had to be the worse weapon to use while on a bike since it’s large and you would have to use one hand to steer the bike and you might accidentally grab the gun wrong if it almost falls off your lap.
I sped up to get away from him so he’d realize I didn’t care what he did, but thanks to the stop signs, we stayed at the same place. I tried slowing down, but that didn’t work. He wasn’t after me, we just ended up riding awkwardly next to each other.
He later attacked some car coming from the opposite direction. I think he hijacked the car – I don’t remember him firing the gun and his victim was unharmed, just scared. By then, I had already driven away.
There was a part of the dream that had debates by extreme candidates. They were young, so maybe it was a college group or something. However, we realized the people debating weren’t the most extreme on both sides. We later found out they were hooking up somewhere despite their difference in opinions because they both wanted the same thing, just to get it through different methods. In the end, it was a positive dream.
I also woke up with “House of the Rising Sun” by the Animals stuck in my head. That I know is from looking it up after seeing my friend’s status update about it being her favorite song.
Note: I looked up the symbol and found it is sometimes used for voluntaryism and also similar to the symbol in V for Vendetta, which is about voluntary order.
Actually, it wasn’t this song, it was a rip off of this song and I remember getting frustrated about copyright issues.
I remember singing along to this while I was driving alone on a winding highway. I remember tree-covered hills on the right – not has tall as the hills near my house, though. The land on the left was flatter than the right.
I remember an air traffic control tower on the right and soon after passing it, waiting for a fence with barbed wire to open for me to go through.
I think it was memory consolidation from the road trip (two days ago) and flight lessons (10 days ago). I think this song played once on the road trip.
Update: After looking up Chicago’s O’Hare airport for another dream, I realized the air traffic control tower looked like the one there, but with more antennae. I’ve never been to O’Hare, so I’m still trying to find if the images are from a movie or TV show.
I remember some random scenes of troughs made with cement, sprayed with graffiti, and five large black rubber conduits in a warehouse. I thought they looked large enough to crawl through. This was related to “open” and “closed” information – I’m not sure what this meant, but realized the order/pattern the information was received as a message in itself.
I remember a scene where I had to go to a meeting or class in a rehabbed warehouse. The parking lot was faded and weeds had grown through the cracks. There was a swing ride that looked similar to the Cedar Point ride that killed someone recently. The swings went off to the side, right over the path I needed to take. I watched the pattern and was able to safely run to the building. The ride was turned off and abandoned later in the dream.
There was a scene in a rehabbed building – it had high ceilings and open room configurations. The walls were painted gray. I remember looking around and finding a “clue” under the bed. The floor was covered in tile and one tile was an album cover of some sort.
I remember giving a classmate (10+ years older than me with a young personality, no one I know in waking life) a ride in a hybrid car across a small section of the lot. I drove it horribly. When I parked outside of the warehouse, we talked about how we were about to start a four-week class.
I remember a scene in a class and our team was led (by automatic choice) by a coworker from waking life that I always admire for her leadership skills and how she steps into that position because she knows what she’s doing. We were drawing scenes on large post-its (that we use in waking life). I remember wanting to make the flooring in my scene look better. There was a part where I was rehanging my post-it, but it was against the window and was the kind without the sticky part. Instead, there were these plastic “pins” that could be inserted into rubber holes installed in the window ledge to hold the paper up. I thought it was a neat design.
Later, the room was filled for an orientation. It was going on either 1 or 2 p.m. (the clocks were all different). I hadn’t had lunch and wondered if it was too early to leave. There was a large box of four-packs of pudding things, but each serving was over 300 calories. I didn’t want to eat just one pudding thing for lunch. I later found a “front desk” area with some kind of large candy and a basket with Kellogg’s crisps (strawberry flavor). I picked up the candy, thinking about trading the pudding for it, but also thinking there isn’t anything saying I have to pick just one thing, so I thought about taking one of each. That’s when some woman who worked there asked what I was trading and I said the pudding for the candy.
I joined in some line to finish paperwork – I remember a small restroom on the right. The line went around and down some stairs. I was worried that I didn’t have enough information to finish the paperwork, so I got out of the line and let the less patient guy in a red shirt behind me go ahead.
