From a speech-to-text note recorded when half asleep:
Being in Pittsburgh on a rooftop in the mornings along the river. The city had giant airburst things go off in the sky. I don’t know if this is to wake up people that work in the morning or what, but they went off almost everywhere around the river.
Near the river, one guy is dressed as a superhero and he sees me deflect a runaway ear burst container and end up hitting another building but not causing damage. He told me I should go work for people in that building to make up for any damage. I thought that was weird. I don’t know those people and it caused no damage.
Later, I was on the top floor abandoned that overlooks the city. It was an access point for urban explorers for them to access other rooftops. I knew how to get around in Columbus this way and someone was giving a tour to two newbies. The tour guide thought he made a mistake and wanted to go back downstairs. I offered help and one of the newbies reminded me I was new to Pittsburgh and didn’t know anything and I was like, “You’re right, I only know Columbus! I’ll sit back down.”
In another dream, I was in some expensive building that was rarely used, but [my advisor and future teacher] had a class and multiple clubs using the space for 360 video and motion capture and green screen. I felt intimidated not knowing enough and not as much as these young kids, but they seemed nice.
I remember a short dream that had two parts: The first was a scene where I impulsively spent $5,000 on office space that I had never seen. It was supposedly located in a highrise building with windows in all the offices. The space was going to be small, but I decided to have one for whatever business I started in the dream. I remember being parked in the fifth or sixth level of a parking garage looking at the highrise. It was a really beautiful city – like Columbus or Washington with awesome architecture as well as parks and trees and it was very clean.
The second scene took place in some sort of waiting room. The ceiling was a weird flowing white sheet with “ripples” that reminded me of vertical blinds. Otherwise, it was a normal waiting room with gray carpeting and modern office chairs.
Two of the people were played by actors from Flashforward. The guy sat to my left and the girl was seated almost in the farthest seat she could find. There was a person to his left and a guy to the left of the girl that I included in the conversation. The guy and girl were separated and planned on getting a divorce. The guy was an FBI agent and was a workaholic and the girl was a legal consultant. They were splitting up because they never had time for each other and the girl was suspicious of the guy, thinking he must be cheating on her.
I remember explaining that the guy is just always working – “not working with air quotes” (I said while doing air quotes) – but actually working and he wouldn’t have time to have an affair.
I woke up with this church song in my head. My alarm went off – one that was set to snooze for 5 min. instead of the normal 20 min. I snoozed it and fell back to sleep. The song turned into children and their parents singing a Capella over scenes from a movie where a small town is destroyed by Biblical events like a flood and plagues. The scene I remember most was a school bus that was painted a pale peach color and turned into a “church bus” trying to get through deep water with families (mostly children) inside.
What I still remember from last night’s dreams:
I remember following an English teacher and some other guy across a park or garden area. We were up high on top of the arches and other architectural features. They just jumped down. I was too afraid of landing too hard, so I planned to climb down a metal feature. However, the metal pillar I got onto bent down to the ground due to my weight.
“Drank a half bottle of water before bed. Having to pee made me have very vivid dreams, but woke me up partway through a sleep cycle, so I feel like I’m still in a dream. I keep feeling like I need to return to the movie theater where I left my friend, make the website in my head, look into when the next Beginning Russian course will be taught, write a story that takes place partially in Ashville because of all the “seed feeders,” give the Newseum the Go Pro photos I took for them, and unpark my car from the top of a minivan on some college campus I’ve been to before in a dream.”

I will expand on these later.
I remember volunteering to use a new device that was part dream tech and part VR to help find details to help solve a murder. I got stuck at the top of a structure that reminded me of a lifeguard station because it felt as if it would tip and I have a fear of falling. The heights were cool, though. I yelled and a guy came over and held onto the structure so I could take a seat and put on an Oculus Rift-like headset. I don’t remember the next part of that dream.
