I remember a scene where I was riding a motorcycle eastbound on OH-316 in my hometown and stopped just past the street that runs toward my parents’ house. I was thinking about a way or road through halfway up the road that would meet up with Route 23.
I remember being in a Speedway restroom and later going to a different one in town, closer to the work event in my dream.
I remember being at the work event in formal attire. Later, I remember singing along with Sara Bareilles’ “Love Song,” but I abruptly stopped when the host of the event came in and said we were going out of business and that it would be our last event like this. Since most of the people were required to attend, she said there was no reason to keep us. I planned to stay, but I woke up right after she said that because my alarm went off.
I remember being at a university that was in a downtown area of a large city. The city reminded me of Cleveland or Pittsburgh, and some of the streets were angled weird instead of the grid I grew up with.
I was in a cafeteria that had a second level where people could eat and look down below (like Carnegie Melon) and I was on the first level. Some guy came in and shot someone famous. Everyone got down and ran. I got away from the building, but I wasn’t worried about being a target – this was obviously a hit on that one person.
I later went in because I was hungry and all the food areas were shut down. I went to join a group of people waiting to get food from the vending machine. I needed change, so I went over to a cashier who was still working, but she wasn’t allowed to sell the food. I asked for change and they looked at me like I was crazy and said, “Are you kidding me? That was a level 3 assault and you think I would be able to give you change?”
Later, I was using the restroom at “work” (in the college, but I don’t remember which department) and it looked like my parents’ bathroom. I pulled back the shower curtain and found three bound “celebrities” with their hands and feet bound and their mouths covered with duct tape. I thought they were dead. One of them opened their eyes. I thought, “I should report this…” Then, time jumped a week and the two dead celebrities were still there. My co-workers in the dream obviously had seen them and didn’t report them either. I remember thinking I first found them last Tuesday and it had been a whole week! I thought, “I have to report this, but anonymously because I don’t want to be a target.”
Later, I remember being in a pool on campus holding onto an inner tube looking into a cardboard box with a Go Pro doing a sign-off for a YouTube video. I did a couple of takes – one using my real name, another using an alias I plan to use in waking life. In waking life, I plan to not show my face, though. Soon after that, I found myself in an auditorium/stage/studio in some improv class. I was looking for a recording studio to report those dead celebrities in private. However, the class was about getting over shyness, so everyone was confused when I wouldn’t make this “important phone call” in front of them. It turned into running a parkour course and I even tried to do a cartwheel and failed.
There was a part where I was going to go back to the cafeteria building to get something and come back, but others were confused why I’d go so far. It wasn’t far at all – it was across the street. That’s how I saw/remembered the intersection of college buildings. They were partially highrises – some were repurposed buildings that were built in the 1930s.
I seriously wish this dream comes true someday. It was awesome.
I found a sci-fi series that already had four seasons and still running that had a female protagonist and was set in the near future. The show dealt with the social and cultural aspects of artificial intelligence. The protagonist was a character that was good, but also had shady connections that required thwarting security.
The show was an “experience” where, if you viewed the episodes online, you could have an immersive experience using Google Cardboard and other apps to add to the story. The Google Cardboard/Oculus Rift parts dealt with seeing the environments the story took place in – one was as the protagonist in an alley and the “game” was pointing out areas that might have a security camera. Another part was playing a detective/law enforcement person and going through “police reports” and listening to interviews (using AI within the website) to fill in the backstory of the characters. While that’s going on, you can add security camera feeds that notify you of when motion is detected. Many are false alarms, but also some scenes that advance the plot and add to the backstory.
IT WAS SO AWESOME. I even dreamed I told my mom about it and tried to get her interested.
Part of that turned into a dream where I was in the protagonist’s character in a flashback. I remember being in her bedroom and that parts were visible from the stairwell in the three-story home.
Outside, in and alley, there was a structure with three garage doors. A friend who was a bit more gutsy with exploring and I got into it through a regular door. We found that there was a smaller garage with one large door within a “shell.” I switched to the gutsy character. As her, I found a side door and used a flashlight to look around inside despite the other character being worried. The space was empty except for a large cart/trailer thing with pieces of wood that were cut to be squiggly and painted orange. I thought they were part of a stage production. I also thought the location would be a good hidden location because no one would know that it wasn’t a three-car garage from the outside.
I remember going into a lab in a college where I worked and some professor came in with a student to have them make up an assignment. I remember being half-asleep (really it was because I WAS asleep) and tried to find a way to appear that I was actually being productive. I remember pulling up a map on my tablet and zooming in. There was also something about turning on more lights in the room.
Later, I was at a weekend conference at OU where I do work in waking life and someone visiting got the school mixed up with Ohio State. She had an OSU store/bookstore gift card and I told her if she didn’t use it online, she should still go up to Columbus because there are free things to see like the library and the museum (it’s free on Sunday) and parks.
I remember trying to figure out if I was in a lucid dream by saying, “If I am dreaming, I can…” and made up things. They would come true for the most part, but some things were not exact.
I woke up in my car outside of some apartments at night. I opened the door and I was parked in a parking lot across from a river and a sidewalk. It was a comfortable temperature (maybe 60s?). Some southeast Asian girl to my left was wearing a coat and sat against my car as if she were waiting for someone. She looked at me like I was weird for sleeping in my car. I probably had the same face because she was leaning against a stranger’s car while they slept in it.
About one spot away, there was a guy sitting in the passenger side facing the river holding a camera or cell phone videoing the people walking by. His friend arrived exiting a pedestrian bridge, holding some guy, helping him walk. It was too dark to tell if the guy was drunk, beat up, or sick.
I remember looking at a great skyline that was partly covered by some trees on the right and considered staying at the apartment for another year because the view was good. I don’t remember what city it was, though. Outside of a general LeVeque Tower-looking building and the open spaces between the buildings (so not a LARGE city like NYC), nothing stood out that I could recognize.
The dream was vivid, but here’s what I remember now (later in the day):
I remember a scene where I was in a backyard with grass that was too green and I hid behind a tall hedge near a brown picket fence. There were items in the hedge – maybe including a rubber ducky or a clown mask? A sprinkler nearby started spraying water on me so, I tried moving out of the way, but it continued.
I slipped into what I’d describe a “hard drive” with a LOT of dream games. I recognized it as a popular developer’s collection and was excited to be able to access the games. I knew I could come back and play different ones! They appeared as 3D icons – one was a blue planet with yellow/green clouds.
I played a game, but I didn’t like it much.
Later, there was a scene where I was being shown around a design company’s headquarters by a woman who worked there. The place was beautiful! There was an open area in the middle of one of the floors and the wall had this awesome map design of northeast U.S. and Canada with comic-like black lines and dots. I realized it was a projection instead of a painting which they switch up with different art.
I also remembered being there before when there was a full floor. I remember seeing it collapse. I thought how they turned the hole into an architectural element was smart.
The main dream I remember (and 8-min. dream!) is going home from some job on a bike and I remember wanting to explore because I was new to the area. I looked at a map and saw that U.S. 60 was a main road and went north, then south.
I remember trying to follow traffic laws, but I ended up doing a U-turn. I remember riding over and jumping large cracks in the sidewalk.
Later, I was riding next to some teenagers and they kept whistling a 4-note melody. I tried whistling, but couldn’t.
