I remember being in a restaurant with great food and I asked for an alcoholic drink. The waitress walked over to the far side of the bar where a guy had passed out. She took his bottle of bourbon and gave it to me. I was mad and asked for her manager – another chick, same age. I explained I was thinking of vodka and fruit juice, not bourbon and I didn’t want someone else’s germs. I later told friends and family about the horrible service, but great food.
It felt like I was beta testing random games in their first states of development.
One was watching shapes fight some creature from the sky. I first avoided getting involved by acting like I didn’t see it, telling someone I was looking into the restaurant nearby, not out through the window.
I was put into the hero black shape’s position.
In another “dream game,” I was testing to see what would happen if I didn’t go with the narrative. It was programmed well enough to trigger other parts of the narrative to add to the story. It wasn’t “smoothed out” so to speak, so the movements of some of the characters were jumpy because they had to go from far locations to a location near the player (me) to have a conversation. It was the jumpiness that I realized I was in a dream game, so I started talking to characters and going to different places to see what was programmed. I think annoyance was programmed into one of the “guide” characters who was trying to get me to go through a door to trigger the next part of the game.
There were a lot of dreams all mixing together. Here’s what I remember:
I remember scenes involving maze-like “games.” One involved a scene in a multi-level hotel. There were muddy tire tracks on the white tile floor from some large vehicle. Someone said that at certain times, a group of guys with guns run around in a large Jeep/ATV-like vehicle and pick off the players. Part of the game was to outwit them.
There was another scene that involved an obstacle course and I remember having to jump into a body of water to get to another part.
There was a random scene where I had to watch some stuff at a fast food place that some family friends bought for the holidays. I had to miss work to do so and it was after 5 p.m. before someone said I could leave. During the dream, I remember drawing a fence with diagonal hashing. I tried to make it look 3D.
I’ve had vivid dreams for over a week, just too lazy to write them down, but this one was randomly interesting to me.
I remember a scene where I discovered my arm near my wrist had tattoos. The scenario was that my friend Sean and I got drunk and he took me to a friend who did tattoos. I wasn’t THAT mad and thought it was a little funny because they were random and one was bad. The bad one had “princess castles” at the ends of an outlined word. I no longer remember the word, but the castles were upside down.
Later, I remember one of the tattoos were a detailed scene of a McDonald’s with a two-lane drive-thru and I commented on how the yellow lines go with the yellow lines of another tattoo. I said to one of the guys next to me (believing I had blacked out the tattooing process) that I would think I would have remembered the pain. He said to not trust that belief.
By now, I should have realized this was a dream since there is no way all of these scenes would fit on my wrist.
The dream ended with me sitting at a restaurant bar talking to some male friends. One was sharing a large barstool seat with handles with me. I remember scooting back hoping he didn’t mind. He put his hand on my head and started reciting some prayer from a sci-fi fantasy book.
The scene before the party had a short scene of a restaurant lobby. I remember looking at photos of the same lobby from other times we (the group I was with) were there. The bulletin board near the door had autumn leaves during the times we went for Thanksgiving and snowflakes for the times around Christmas.
The actual office party was in a large room with fold-out picnic-style tables. I don’t remember what we were celebrating or what our organization was. There was a scene when the food was low and I passed over a bowl with a handful of cheez-its for a couple of chocolate chip cookies in a jar.
We were out of plates and someone had ripped up a remaining styrofoam plate for us to use pieces of. There were styrofoam “trays” and someone ripped a part of one for me. I said that I’d plan on using a whole tray and share it with a new friend.
In the end, I remember also having a tiny corn thing with sauce on it.
I don’t know what dream it was part of, but I remember walking through an area of a building that was being built. I wanted to explore but felt I didn’t have the time to do so. This was a weird one because I later found out that one of the characters was running through it, at least, a second time and said what other characters said at the same time.
I remember working as an ice cream food cart vendor outside of the Nestor Hall arch at Columbus State. I remember the cart shaking if I left it on too long. The cart got popular around dusk and I remember one guy wanted everything chocolate. I asked him if he wanted to be “chocolated out” and planned to combine chocolate flavors together. I was also filling an order for a lady and her son. She got mad because she didn’t realize I was making both at the same time.
There was a scene in a restaurant where the Vlogbrothers from YouTube were making ice cream. Hank made a chunk of ice cream/dough stuff while explaining the science behind it. He had yellow and blue dye and I thought it would turn green, but it turned blue instead.
I remember later busing tables in the restaurant, which I later said was Applebee’s, but I’m not sure it was. Charlie* was there, also working, and told me something I don’t remember now. I think the restaurant jobs were a cover for something else.
Note about the restaurant: The scene with Charlie happened before. I didn’t write it down because it wasn’t more than a few minutes and I don’t remember the message at that time either, but there is a recurring dream that involves him working at a restaurant like Applebee’s or O’Charley’s (maybe it’s my subconscious playing with the nickname?). I went to Applebee’s today and it wasn’t the Applebee’s near me, but I looked it up on Google and the dreams were DEFINITELY Applebee’s (the lamps are different in other restaurants and some matched the stained glass bird/flower design; also, the dreams always had tables next to the dividers with thick walls/sometimes windows and the dividers were at the right height).
