One of the parts I remember from my dreams last night was a co-worker from a past job walking up to me on the lawn in front of a one-story brick school building. He had some kind of diamond-shaped device/amulet in his hand that had a blue jewel in the middle. He held me in a half-hug and said that the device would allow me to see the future.
He asked me what I saw. I saw (as if going into a dream) waves hitting a beach, the water line (and how weird it is to appear to be higher than the land I’m on), my feet sinking into the wet sand, and how when I picked up my foot, the print only stayed there for a short time because of the way it sucks the sand inside the print when you lift your foot and then the water comes in and erases it completely.
My co-worker was surprised it worked. His surprise made me think I was going crazy and hallucinating.
I drank alcohol last night and ended up sleeping for 10 hours, but not remembering any dreams and did not feel rested at all.
So I went back to sleep and, due to caffeine withdraw and low blood sugar, got a bad headache. I think that’s what caused me to lucid dream.
I wasn’t freaked out like when I normally lucid dream, but a few things kept me from staying in them.
One was dreaming I still lived on Wall Street and walked to my car in my normal legal parking spot. Some weird fog came down Columbus Street and engulfed my car. I realized I was dreaming and made it dissipate by turning on my windshield wipers. I drove down Columbus and got onto High Street just to see what I could do and where I could go in the dream. But then I got this nagging feeling that I needed to quit dreaming about familiar things before I started getting “stuck” in the dream. Before waking up, I remembered there were tall buildings in the background that moved around like a video game.
In another lucid dream, I was living in this apartment, but I had agreed to have Matt move in as a roommate due to some emergency and we split up the tiny place into each of us having a room. He got the living room and designed it nicely. I convinced myself that I was not only dreaming, but I was seeing into the future. I kept asking Matt, who was using his laptop on a small dining room table, “What’s the date? What year is it?” He kept looking at me like I was crazy.
I remember eating some food that was on a table near the kitchen.
Eventually, I went back into my bedroom saying, “Well, I’m going back to the past, now!” And he repeated it, amused at the strangeness.
I remember throughout that dream, I fought to stay in it and keep it going.
In another dream, I can’t remember all the details, but Kara’s cousin, Sarah, told me something she was told in confidence and I couldn’t understand why it was a secret. It was about Betty* “scooping up” Tim*. I pictured her comically picking up Tim like some firefighter. I know it was probably that she (as evil as she is) pounced on Tim when he was single again. I’m sure that happened in another dream a LOOOONG time ago.
In another lucid dream, I tried to focus on details to keep it going. However, all I could remember before I forced myself up to eat, was a glass door with credit card symbols on it, a payphone, and a black mat on the floor with a curled up edge.
* Names were changed.
Off the coast of Florida, there was supposedly a Loch Ness-like creature that was the size of a blue whale (which is like, 100 feet long). The dream was like a movie and me and some other divers were down deep in the ocean in a submarine. We saw something move on our radar. It was not your regular kind of radar — it was like a line graph or something. It showed a big animal and and the head guy said, “I think it’s a blue whale.”
It swam near us and we saw something that was like a computer animated aquatic animal that looked like a cross between a manatee, a blue whale, a crocodile, and a platypus. It had really big razor sharp teeth protruding on both sides of his mouth. Before it came into clear view, the head guy said, “What are those diamond shaped things on its mouth?” They ended up being teeth.
Later, I was on the beach and was talking to this guy and girl. I was barefoot and pushed a small shell into the sand with my big toe of my right foot. The couple were lying on beach towels on a cliff-type place. It was 4 ft. high where the beach eroded away and I was leaning against it. The couple was falling in love. I was just about to go out swimming when a miniature version of the monster came out. So did this other guy who I think was somehow connected with the monster.
He walked up to the “cliff” and told the guy what he was going to be when he grows up. He told the girl, “You are going to be a doctor, AND an architect.” He put the emphasis on the “and” I asked him, “What am I gonna be when I grow up?” He ignored me and started telling the guy and girl how they might be in love now, but soon, she doesn’t know just how much she is going to hate him.
He started to walk off and I asked him, “Why won’t you tell me what I’m gonna be when I get older?”
He paused for a second and turned to me and said with a sly smile on his face, “The act of not knowing is what drives you.” and swam off with the monster.
There were three:
All I remember of one is something going wrong with my class schedule and I had two study halls. I don’t like study halls, so I looked for something I could take during those periods. I signed up for botany classes or something and didn’t want those classes. I didn’t know what I wanted to take and I remembered talking to the science or botany teacher. She asked me what I wanted to be and I said something to do with visual and performing arts and technology. She said if I like botany so much, I should be a scientist and stuff.
Second dream was kinda like the movie, Night of the Creeps, that I saw a few weeks ago, except the critters were tan and scorpion-like. They could burrow through your skin without leaving a mark. It took five days before the critters would take over your brain and have a mind of their own. Five days after that, your body would explode into hundreds of these critters. Maybe I dreamed this because I have to think of a virus analogy story for science.
What I remember of the dream was that someone’s body exploded. To escape, I ran backwards into an elevator of a building and the pressed up button. The doors closed and I sighed a breath of relief. I looked over at the buttons and there was a Nintendo Gameboy (the original black and white dot matrix one) screen with the blueprint of the floor of the building I was on. I saw that there were also left and right buttons. That confused me and so I wanted to see what would happen if I pressed one.
I pressed left and, on the screen, I saw a square that I guessed was the elevator move left through a hallway-type thing. It got to the end and stopped and the doors opened. I saw “Police Office” on one of the walls in a neat font, but the “P” was hanging weird. I don’t know why, but I smiled and pressed the right button. The doors closed and I saw the square go right. When it got closer to the other side of the building, the room borders got thicker. The screen said something about that rooms being locked and went left automatically back to the police office.
I pressed the right button again and it did the same thing, only this time it made weird mechanical noises. The next thing I knew, I was outside and it was late afternoon kinda dark and cool. My friend, Amanda, came out of the building and said, “They’ve gotten inside me and it hard to keep my thoughts. Someone else’s are interfering with mine.” She was erratic and scared. I said I didn’t know how to help her. She ran into a nearby building.
I ran after her and looked in the door and said, “But just think, the supporting actress has a 50/50 chance of living! And that’s pretty good for a movie like this!” I always am trying to guess who’s gonna be alive at the end of the movie. Of course, I was gonna be, because I was the main character.
When I woke up, I thought why couldn’t we use hypnosis or have them fall asleep and have their original consciousness come out of their body? That we can get rid of the critters and then, wake them up.
My other dream was about this psychiatrist and her patient that fell in love. Just before they kissed, some girl that didn’t want them to get together came up with a plan to stop them.
It was weird, but it worked. She came into the room and yelled, “Makeover!” and some people led the doctor and patient out of the room. The patient (that was somewhat bald) said, “I want a makeover!” The doctor, which was a blond model with medium length straight hair, said, “I just want a trim.” Later, I was in a car with the model (she was in the driver’s seat, but I remember controlling the wheel).
We were about to leave when this guy came up to the doctor’s side. She rolled down her window halfway and they said something. She didn’t like him, so she rolled up the window. It was pouring down rain and the streets were sort of flooded. We took off and I remember being in control of the vehicle. It was going really fast and the wheel was hard to turn I was slipping and sliding on the flooded streets. We went a little off the road once, dodging cars and mostly COTA buses like the one we almost hit getting onto the road.
Then, in an intersection, a small semi truck was perpendicular to the road I was on. All of a sudden, this muddy river of flood water hit the truck, which directed the water to rush my way.
Then I woke up.
It started out with one big alligator, then the rest were all crocodiles.
Well, the dream started out with a dusty road and a truck. Some men were putting an alligator in the truck facing the back. I remember dust being kicked up in the air. The truck was moving slow, so I walked behind it. The poor alligator looked sad and I said something like, “Sorry, I had to do this.” and petted it on its nose.
Just then, two police cars filled with drunk people side by side drove down a hill. I flagged them down to stop, so they did. This is where the weird thing happened…
I got a flash of the police folks getting in a gunfight and six people being shot. There was also something about a little kid climbing the tree nearby and the mother tries to get him, but they both fall in the water.
So I yelled out to the people standing by, “Eight of you are going to die, so be careful!”
They looked at me weird and then they sobered up a little. The boy climbed the tree, but the mother got help and got him down safely.
I turned around and apparently the alligator chewed through the wire door of the cage (the truck had stopped) and it was halfway out of the truck. The driver was getting mad, but the alligator crawled back to a nearby stream. Then, these crocodiles started to come out and scared everyone.
I somehow knew when those crocodiles would come out and where and then, my vision changed. The crocodiles turned into geometric shapes, such as a triangle for a head and a bulls eye of ovals for the body. I jumped up and down to distract them and from head on they looked like hats.
Well, my vision cleared up and the head fisherman guy or something drove me and some others back to an office or house on a pier. We were trying to figure out what we were going to do. Then, I sensed a crocodile outside the place and to the right. It ended up being just a mutant dog.
The head fish dude’s dog was slowly changing into an alligator or crocodile. The dog’s head was covered in green scales. The head fish dude said, “Are you sure that’s my dog?” Then, the dog started talking mentally and only the head fish dude and I could understand him. The dog kept making wisecracks about being the head fish dude’s dog.
We looked at some papers and the fish dude read out loud, “‘Radiation testing, please move guests south.’ Why did I just get this letter today?” I looked at a black and white Xeroxed brochure and the head fish dude said to spruce it up, so I agreed. I remember it saying something about the “best spot.”
Then, I remember later that there was the girl that was in love with the fish dude and she looked a lot like the main girl on Lake Placid. She kept carrying around this little paper booklet thingy until a crocodile almost ate her, making her drop it.
Later, I remember walking down a pier and someone said it was hot. This man and women said they would turn the water fans on. I wanted to see what they were talking about, so I followed them, to help them. The guy and the girl took off their life jackets. I didn’t want to because it could save my life. So the “water fans” were these huge fan type devices floating in the water. The couple and I jumped in. Just then, a small crocodile jumped up on the dock area.
We had to get the fan started, so we pushed against this black tube with our feet and the fan started moving. It was fun to ride and the fans would move around in the water. Also, for some reason, I felt I had to get off the next time we came by the dock.
So I waited and jumped off at the dock. Still in the water, I grabbed ahold of the dock and that pesky little crocodile was still there. It was small, but it could have still hurt me. So I swam to the side of the dock and pulled the little guy back into the water. Then, I quickly tried to climb on the dock. It was impossible. So I called for help and this blond guy jumped in the water from a near by dock. People kept telling him not to because his scent would attract the crocodiles.
He tried to help me swim over, but I said I could probably do it. So we got up on the other dock and I moved out of the way, knowing a crocodile was coming. It did and went after the guy. So the guy took off his shirt and put it on the dock to distract it. He kicked the shirt into the water and the crocodile dived in after it.
The rest was an episode of Boy Meets World.
