More Evidence
..that I was a Greek philosopher in a past life..a psychic once told me that I was a Greek guy named Alexander and lived in Ancient Greece..I hadn’t told her about my “research” into Greek Mytholgy..so that was neat to hear ‘cuz I connect with Greek myth and philosophies and can understand most of the translated plays..the thing is, that I was trying to clean up my room and found a Literary (sp?) Cavalcade (a magazine we read in my senior english class, thanks to Mr. Williams)..That month’s theme (it was September, I think) was based on ancient Greek lit..previously for the past 5 or so years I’ve come up with wild theories about parapsychology, religion, aliens, anything you can think of and it hasn’t been until just reacently that I have been saying them out loud and developing them..my theories from the past and present have shown up in “scenes” of daydreams or movie scenarios as I call them where I am either telling my theories to large groups of people in poetic/psychotic, seemingly salad speech language or I am acting them out..that the theorectical histories I explained repeated in a modern day experience to the characters..the weird thing is that it’s only AFTER I create these theories that I read about similar ones thought up by ancient Greek people..mine might be simular but are applied to 21st century environments..now think my favorite movie is the Matrix..a movie based on anything from religion to higher level math to ancient Greek philosophy..GO PLATO!! I read an excerpt of “Republic” in the LC and it was the Ancient Greek version of the Matrix, Alice and Wonderland, Wizard of Oz, and the Truman Show..it talked (well, Plato talked as Socrates) about prisoners in a cave only allowed to view one side of that cave..on that wall, shadows of men were projected..since the prisoners were only allowed to view that wall, they believed they were real people and that the cave and those shadows were all that existed..then the questioned arose, what if one of the prisoners were freed? they’d automatically look to find out who were the men of the shadows that were cast only to find puppets and a fire..the freed prisoner would look away because the fire/light would hurt their eyes and scare them to believe the shadows weren’t men after all..they go out into the world and after seeing the sky and water, and trees and the sun and everything else the world holds..they first look for things they recognized and felt safest with: the shadows the sun casts and the darkness of the night, but finally comes to accept the light as the truth and the shadows that were once thought as reality, is now thought as an illusion..the prisoner goes back to free the others, but they disbelieve him, calling him a mad man who says the shadows (and thus everything they believe in and know as reality) isn’t real that there is something called the “sun” and other worldly things..and we he tries to free them, he’s put to death..
Well, the “Cave” is the “Matrix” or our life as we are taught to believe and percieve..the “World” is absolute truth and knowledge..the “light” is also knowledge and truth..the freed prisoner is like “Neo” and the other “freed minds” or those who search for answers, truth, and knowledge..the turning away from the fire was like Neo not accepting the truth when he was first freed..the finding shadows and feeling safe in the darkness is a way of saying without light, shadows and darkness cannot exist..without the world, there would be no cave, etc..going back to free others is just the universal subconcious part of humans that make us feel the want to help others and the fear of being alone..but just as if you take a goldfish out of the bowl and put it back in, the other gold fish will not believe him that there are large giant creatures and a larger place without water..even when the freed goldfish asks, where do you think the food comes from? the other goldfish would say something like the begining/end of “Taken”: “Everyone knows there is nothing beyond the sky..the sky just is..and it goes on forever.” or something like that..the food just comes, why question it when questioning it might risk not having food (*caughs* Soylent Green is people *coughs*)..the prisoner being put to death is because he knows to much! Just like I have believed for a long time now..someone once said, “Power currupts (sp?), absolute power currupts absolutely”..well, I developed that in to “Knowledge is power” then knowledge currupts..then absolute knowledge currupts absolutely..and thus “Ignorance is bliss”..knowing too much can kill you type thing..but some people would say it’s worth the risk to help others..
It’s things like this that make people afraid (and thus discredit, lock away, or even kill the philosophers of the past and present) of those who say they have seen/sensed things that the common person doesn’t..such as that guy on the news getting discredited for saying that Adam and Eve were an Alien’s genetic experiment..(HELLO!! I came up with that theory YEARS ago..tho I don’t nessarily believe it, I’m open to it)..which brings me to my next thing that seems to make people think I’m either crazy, mean, or even evil..
What if the “Matrix” and the “Cave” is religion??? The Bible, the way Jesus was born, God, the way Jesus lived and died, the way we evolved spiritually, the 10 commandments, angels, etc..even other religions..their gods and goddesses, their legends and mythology, their strict religious beliefs..what happens if it’s all not real? I’m not saying it’s a lie, because the “shadows” were created by truth (the Fire)..what happens if there is so much more that we just can’t see or imagine only because modern day religions and psychology limits our thought and conditions us to believe that if we think and know too much, we’ll destroy all that human lives have depended on since the beginning of our exsistance..religion is a source of stability..it has rules and morals and just look at the symbols of the 3 most popular religions of our time: a Cross, (notice that grids, squares, and even phone poles and power lines look like crosses), a 6 pionted star (created by 2 equalateral triangles), and the Moon and Star thing..in 2D Design class, the teacher explains that horizontal and vertical lines and directions create stability because humans are constantly experiencing a world that when standing, we are vertical standing on a horizonal ground..a cross shape uses this principle..(maybe that’s why I’m attracted to round objects..I like to think outside of the box because I’m stuck inside it..luckily, round is catching on..just look at our cars!)..the Star of David is made of 2 EQUAL TRANGLES..meaning equality and balance..and triangles are the most stable structure (other than domes/circle/orbs I think)..our goverment (oh, BTW, democracy was created by the Greeks over 2000 years before America, Plato writes that leaders shouldn’t be older than 35, which has been part of the Constitution from the start..why did it take 2 millennea to bring it back? .. that’s a whole nother story..) is based on an equal triangle..and of course the “trinity” of Christianity and the Matrix movie..Then you have the moon and star thing..the star is pointy and whole..the moon is round and is partly hidden (hidden truth maybe?) these opposites create what I call the “Yin/Yang Effect” it creates balance through opposites..and in each side there is a little of the opposing side..
I planned to write this all day, so I think it was a little ironic to get the christian website ad in my guestbook just before writing this..I went to the site..the little sayings of there is two places after death and one ain’t too cool..THAT’S SO CUTE! I’ve never heard that way of religious speaking before and I think it rocks..
I was going to go on talking about my anology about how religion is like a school..but I’ll save that for when I talk about my theories about the Bible..which I might write in a screen play version of my daydream..
Heck, it’d be great to write all my theories down that way and put in the connecting story daydreams and just write a movie that no one would truely understand..
New Layout Coming!
Michelle made me a layout! It’s cool with BRITNEY SPEARS!!! It will be the first layout I didn’t make..what’s neat is that she has totally different ways of designing than I do, but her layout’s come out great and unique..I like her use of color :o) I’ll have to put it up when I get access back on my ‘puter and switch my pages over..maybe then I’ll write my theories..
Oh, BTW, the whole “Thinking outside of the box ‘cuz you’re stuck inside” belief was similar to the “cave” thingy..but I came up with it back in 1997 or something (I was 13 at the time)..way before many of these movies came out and before I read Greek myth..I guess now looking back, the “box” is like Pandora’s Box/Eve’s apple fruit, sorry..opening/eating it could unleash havoc and pain, but just as (even more funny, since I didn’t make the humorous connection until now) it is in the Greek myth, luckily Hope was inside..
