The Whatever Creations site was officially 2 years old on May 28th..
My last two weeks:
I went to Connie and David’s wedding..THEY’RE SO CUTE TOGETHER!!! :o) I guess the water made them sick on their honeymoon :o( but the wedding was nice :o) ..I took photos, so did my dad..I ended up taking photos my way in my style, but according to some people, my style is “desrespectful” because I like cut off photos..I focus more on the emotions and people’s expressions than I do the clothes they’re wearing..
I also tried to get shots of the friends and family enjoying the wedding but one group of ladies was funny..they laughed from a joke someone made but when I took the photo, they looked mad and tired..oh, well..the children and the bridesmaids/groomsmen/bride/groom were usually smiling so that helped..
the flower girl and ring bearer posed for me..KIDS ARE SO COOL!! The daughter of the lady (Anita) that renewed her vows with her husband was smart..but then again, she WAS nine years old..most kids are really smart at that age..by the end of the night, she was takin’ photos with a one time use and she was good about the timing! She’d sneak up and shoot awesome pics!..
Anita’s kids were cool..the sons took photos of eachother drinking the Sparkling Cider (that looked like wine) and the family posed for my dad and I and it was funny because the parents smiled, but the kids looked tired..one son holding the bottle and the girl holding a cup (looking like she was drinking stuff from the bottle)..
I got some good photos so I’m happy I can give them to them for a gift..if they let me, I’ll post some here..The cake was GOOOOOD! and at the end, I caught the bouquet!! But all I could think was “wishful-friggin’-thinking” mostly cuz I’m not even dating anyone at the moment..my hand (using palm reading) says I’ll get married once at around 27 years old or I’d get married twice (it could be the same guy), once at 21/22 and then again around 27..but the one around 21 years old (if it’s a triangle and not an X) keeps fading and reappearing and then fading again..so go figure..I’ll be 20 on the 27th..
I want a digital camcorder for my birthday, but I know I won’t be getting one..I won’t be able to afford one for about 2-3 years..I’m still have about 1.5 years left on paying off my dSLR..so yeah..and now I have Medicare (darn $65/mo. grr)..but I want a digital camcorder where I can download the video (not just still clips) to a computer so I can edit it with Adobe Premier! I think it would be fun to shoot an event or something or a documentary about the museum or something and cut and edit it and have it available for the museum to sell or have on their site..
I waited too long and as of now, I have NO INTERNSHIP :o( The one place I talked about liking, they were one of the nicest companies! They were nice enough to email me back and said they’d keep my resume on file for 6 months! The second nicest had to be the Columbus Dispatch..they said they didn’t have any internship opportunities, but would ask the editorial department to see if they need any freelance work! HOW NICE IS THAT????
I waited until now to ask around to do freelance-type work for the internship..so far, my option is redesigning, researching, creating, maintaining, taking photos, etc. for the town of South Bloomfield (fun fun!!) or some other people I’ve contacted in town..I might post something on Ashvilleohio.net to see if anyone needs my services..
Got my Macromedia Director class final done..well, almost..it’s good enough and it works..that’s all that matters..more than half of it was made the morning before it was due and I ended up finishing it on the way to class..I’m glad my idea about having sketches fade into web interfaces worked out good..all I did was traced my interfaces and scanned them and auto-leveled ‘em and faded in the interface and faded out the sketch..
Director is so much easier to set up than flash..the coding is somewhat simple and came easy to me..the hard part was creating everything in Macromedia Freehand and Flash..the “zipper” took me a while cuz I looked at a real zipper and was a perfectionist getting it to look right..The “film” was nuts cuz being a photographer has gotten me to not recognize the film unless I put all the holes in with the right amount of holes and cut the way film would usually be cut..
If I had gotten up a little earlier, I could have tried my idea..I didn’t want to learn how to do the music differently just so I can have a “stop sound” button..so I thought since I now how to get it to play different sounds, I would just record silence and have it loop..so the “stop music” button would just play a loop of silence to make it seem like the music stopped..
I’ll post some screen shots soon..
The other finals went ok, I guess..my Dreamweaver final only worked in Internet Explorer and not Safari like the teacher’s going to look at it in..the FrontPage assignment went well, I made most of it in Photoshop..
I wrote the Press Release about AshvilleOhio.net putting up the Oldfashioned Fouth of July Festival schedule and the Radio Broadcast about the Ashville Small Town Museum running out of room..my final was about the Chorus Columbus State and Columbus State Concert Band performing..it was easy to get quotes ;o)
Well, I’ll try to blog more often..ttyl!
