My blog disappeared and I needed a break anyway..

I have a huge problem..our treatments are only supposed to be around 3-4 pages..well, I think I’m putting too much detail in mine because hand written it’s 25 pages long (the first act is about 6 pages) and now I’m typing it up and calling it the “long version” and the first act is 2 pages single-spaced..this sucks! I’m gonna make a “shorter version” where I take out all the detail and some scenes..

How do I take detail out of a scifi story when the setting doesn’t exist in real life? It’s not “Sarah runs down the hall” that’s easy to picture an everyday hall and a girl running..but since in my story, it’s a girl wearing a bluish-gray synthetic nylon-like material with a headset and glowing ammo and a yellow health gauge running through matte metalic bluish gray corridors..

I’ll probably just take the whole half-page description of the first scene and say they are in a battle..period…just to make it fit the right amount of pages..

Well, I’m off to type up the second act..
